1. Quality Control Department

QC Inspector – Welding & Painting

Job Description

The QC Inspector will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting welding and painting activities in the fabrication workshop to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and international codes. The role requires verifying welding procedures, inspecting coatings, and maintaining quality documentation.

The candidate will also coordinate with production teams to ensure that fabrication work meets the required technical standards and client specifications.


Key Responsibilities

Inspect welding works and fabrication activities in the workshop
Ensure welding procedures comply with project specifications and codes
Conduct visual inspections and quality checks for welding joints
Monitor surface preparation and painting / coating applications
Verify coating thickness and painting quality standards
Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
Coordinate with engineers and production teams for quality compliance
Identify defects and recommend corrective actions when necessary


Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field


Certification Requirements

Candidates must possess the following certifications:

CSWIP 3.1 / CSWIP 3.2 Certification (Certified Welding Inspector)
BGAS Grade 2 Certification preferred
NACE Level 2 Certification preferred


Experience

Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience
Experience working in steel fabrication workshops or industrial fabrication projects


Required Skills

Strong knowledge of welding inspection techniques
Understanding of coating inspection and painting standards
Familiarity with quality control documentation and reporting
Knowledge of international fabrication standards and procedures
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work with fabrication teams and engineers
