Safety Officer

Job Description:
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring workplace safety by monitoring and implementing health and safety policies in accordance with regulatory standards. The officer will conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and ensure compliance with safety protocols in oil and gas operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections and audits at the worksite to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to reduce risk.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safe work practices.
- Investigate accidents or incidents and generate reports with corrective measures.
- Ensure that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used correctly and that safety protocols are followed.
- Coordinate with other departments to promote a safety-first culture within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related certification (NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards in the oil and gas industry.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to train others.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and proactive in identifying potential safety risks.
