Position Overview:

The Assistant Pastry Chef will assist the Head Pastry Chef in preparing, baking, and presenting a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The ideal candidate should have strong creative skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality pastries, preferably with experience in hotel or fine dining kitchens.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and baking pastries, cakes, desserts, and bread items as per menu requirements.

  • Support the Head Pastry Chef in new recipe development and seasonal menu innovations.

  • Ensure quality control in taste, texture, and presentation of all pastry products.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen at all times.

  • Monitor ingredient inventory and coordinate with the store team for replenishment.

  • Follow food safety standards and maintain compliance with HACCP guidelines.

  • Train and supervise junior kitchen assistants as needed.


Qualifications & Education:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Baking, or Pastry & Confectionery from a recognized institute.

  • Additional courses in Food Safety or HACCP are an advantage.


Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in pastry and dessert preparation.

  • Hotel or hospitality industry experience is preferred.

  • Proven experience in baking, decorating, and dessert production in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Knowledge of modern baking techniques and international pastry trends.
